Associate Vice President for Research at Nile University (NU)

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Management
- Assist in the development and execution of the university’s R&D strategy.
- Identify and promote new research initiatives, interdisciplinary collaborations, and funding opportunities.
- Support faculty in securing competitive research grants from national and international funding agencies.
- Work with vice deans, research centers, research groups, and researchers to establish policies and guidelines to govern and enhance research productivity and impact.
Research & Innovation & Funding
- Ensure adherence to institutional policies related to research ethics, compliance, and responsible conduct.
- Oversee grant administration, develop internal funding programs, seed grants, and provide training on securing research funding.
- Build relationships with funding agencies, industry partners, and organizations to secure research support.
- Promote knowledge transfer, manage intellectual property, and oversee patents and licensing agreements.
- Facilitate workshops and training sessions on grant writing and research funding strategies.
Infrastructure & Operations
- Represent the university in regional, national, and global research networks.
- Oversee facilities, laboratories, and ensure adherence to ethical, safety, and regulatory standards.
- Work with legal and compliance offices to manage research-related risks.
- Support the university’s technology transfer and commercialization efforts.
Academic & Industry Engagement
- Build and strengthen collaborations with government agencies, industry leaders, and global research networks.
- Represent the center in visits, academic conferences, industry events, and policy discussions.
- Develop technology transfer and commercialization strategies.
Essential Qualifications
- Full Professor with outstanding international publications record.
- Domain of expertise is within Nile University’s research domains
- At least 5 years of progressive experience in research administration, grant management, or academic leadership.
- Proven track record of securing funding and publishing in high-impact journals.
- Mastering research methodologies, innovation, and commercialization.
- Excellent leadership, strategic planning, and communication skills.
- Experience in managing multidisciplinary research teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong connections with industry, funding agencies, and policymakers.
- Familiarity with research information management systems and data analytics tools.
- Understanding of global research trends and opportunities.
Starting Date
- September 1st, 2025.
