School of Digital Humanities
The new School of Digital Humanities at Nile University aims to assist students in acquiring a firm grounding in various academic disciplines and/or a professional field that relies upon specialized knowledge of the societies and cultures of Egypt and the Arab region. The new school will enhance existing scholarly practices in the humanities and social sciences through using digital tools and algorithmic approaches that enable more quantitative perspectives on research topics in the humanities and social sciences. This will constitute remarkable opportunities for experiential learning and community-led action research, and toward establishing a vigorous collaboration across disciplines to address the “science of culture” through the methods of culture analytics and Digital Humanities.
Vision
To be recognized locally and internationally as a leading academic institution in the fields of scientific and academic research, dedicated to serving society by generating knowledge and cultivating a generation of qualified specialists equipped to excel in evolving professional fields both locally and globally.
Mission
To contribute to experiential learning and community-driven action research, fostering strong interdisciplinary collaboration to address "the science of culture" through approaches in cultural analysis, humanities, and digitization at both local and international levels. This includes preparing graduates for leadership roles, professional excellence, and entrepreneurship in specialized fields by providing the highest standards of education, cutting-edge research, and innovative technologies to interpret societal and cultural phenomena related to technological advancements and the evolution of social media. The aim is to promote community development and analyze societal phenomena to propose forward-looking visions for addressing them.
