Admission Requirements and Documents

Introduction

In its admission, Nile University follows the general rules and guidelines set by the Office of Admission, Ministry of Higher Education.

The fees for application amounts to 1500 EGP (Non Refundable) and the criteria and documents required for each of the accepted certificates are listed below:

For Undergraduates

Admission

 

Academic and Non-Academic Requirements:

  • Official Thanaweya Amma Certificate.
  • Original birth certificate (computerized).
  • 6 passport-size photos.
  • Copy of Egyptian national ID.
  • Copy of passport (optional for Egyptians and required for non-Egyptian applicants).
  • Military Form 2 & 6 (Male only) (for Egyptians).

N.B:

For Transferred Students, in addition to the above:

  • Original Withdrawal Letter (for private universities only).
  • Course description signed and stamped from the previous university.
  • Transcript stamped from the University and the Supreme Council of Universities.
  • Bayan hala (بيان حالة) stamped from the previous university.

 

Nile University considers the admission of a minimum cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.0 (on a scale of 4.0). Students who have scored high on Advanced Placement (AP) courses may be granted transfer credits.
The score mentioned below might be subject to change as per the Ministry of Higher Education and the SCU instructions.

  • Business School: 8 subjects from GPA certificate including English and Maths, along with EST 1 with a minimum score of 800.
  • Biotechnology School: 8 subjects from GPA certificate including English, Maths, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology along with EST 1 with a minimum score of 800.
  • Engineering and Computer Science School: 8 subjects from GPA certificate including English, Maths, Physics, and Chemistry, along with EST 1 with a minimum score of 800 and EST 2 with a minimum score of 900.

Academic and Non-academic Requirements:

  • An official American Diploma GPA Certificate (Grades 10, 11 and12) stamped by the American Dipmola Accreditation Association and the General Educational Examination (الادارة العامة للامتحانات) is required for schools inside of Egypt.
  • If the school is outside of Egypt, the GPA certificate should be stamped by the American Dipmola Accreditation Association, the Egyptian Embassy in the country where the school is located and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country where the school is located.
  • If the student spends grades 10, 11, and 12 in 3 different schools, they should bring a transcript for each grade separately stamped by the General Examinations Department - in case the school is inside Egypt - and if the school is outside of Egypt, this different transcript should be stamped from the Egyptian Embassy in the country where the school is located and also the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country where the school is located.
  • AMIDEAST letter of Accreditation for schools outside of Egypt only and for schools inside of Egypt, it should be افادة التعليم الخاص بمعادلة المدرسة. 
  • EST 1 and EST II stamped by the General Examination Department.
  • If taken, Arabic and Religion subjects stamped by the General Examinations Department. 
  • EST username and password.
  • Proof of 12 years of schooling for schools inside of Egypt should be stamped by the school stamp and the Educational Administration that the school follows. If the school is outside of Egypt, it should be stamped by the Egyptian Embassy in the country where the school is located and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country where the school is located.
  • Original birth certificate (computerized). 
  • Copy of Egyptian national ID. 
  • Copy of passport (optional for Egyptians and required for non-Egyptian applicants). 
  • 6 passport-size photos.
  • Military Form 2 and 6 (Male only).
  • For students who studied outside of Egypt, they should submit a Movement Certificate (شهادة تحركات) 
     

 For Transferred students, in addition to the above:

  • Original Withdrawal Letter (for private universities only).
  • Course description signed and stamped from the previous university.
  • Transcript stamped from the University and the Supreme Council of Universities.
  • Bayan hala (بيان حالة) stamped from previous university. 

 

Applicants must submit certificates of 8 subjects at the O-Level with a minimum grade of “C” (these may only be in the extended and not in the core system). Subjects must be completed in the four years before university enrollment. Applicants who have completed advanced-level subjects may be granted transfer credits.

  • Business school: Minimum of 8 O-Level subjects, including English and Maths, with a minimum score of C.
  • Biotechnology school: Minimum of 8 O-Level subjects, including English, Maths, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, with a minimum score of C.
  • Engineering and Computer Science School:  Minimum of 8 O-Level subjects including English, Maths, Physics, and Chemistry with a minimum score of C and one subject only AS or AL Math course is required with a minimum score of D.

 

Academic and Non-Academic Requirements: 

  • An official IGCSE Certificates stamped by The British Council, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and General Examinations Department is required if the school is inside of Egypt. If the school is outside of Egypt, the certificates should be stamped by The British Council, Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
  • If taken, Arabic and Religion subjects stamped by the General Examinations Department.
  • Proof of 12 years of schooling for schools inside of Egypt should be stamped by the school stamp and the Educational Administration that the school follows. If the school is outside of Egypt, it should be stamped by the Egyptian Embassy in the country where the school is located and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country where the school is located.
  • For Grade 11 Students, they should bring أفادة التعليم الخاص باستيفاء متطلبات التعليم ما قبل الجامعي من stamped from General Department of Examinations - الإدارة العامة للإمتحانات.
  • Original birth certificate (computerized). 
  • Copy of Egyptian national ID. 
  • Copy of passport (optional for Egyptians and required for non-Egyptian applicants). 
  • 6 passport-size photos.
  • Military Form 2 & 6 (Male only).
  • For students who studied outside of Egypt, they should submit a Movement Certificate (شهادة تحركات) 

For Transferred students, in addition to the above:

For Engineering and Information Technology and Computer:

The School accepts 7 L1 subjects which include: English, Math, Arabic, Physics and Chemistry, and 2 L2 subjects which include math with one of the following subjects: Biology or physics or chemistry or 1 L3 Math

For Biotechnology:

The School accepts 7 L1, including English, Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Arabic.

For Business Administration:

The School accepts 7 L1, which includes English, Maths, and Arabic.

 

Academic and Non-academic Requirements:

  • Official Nile Certificates stamped by the Nile school, Ministry of Education and Director General of Secondary and Private Language Schools Education (رئيس الادارة المركزية للتعليم الثانوى والخاص الرسمى لغات).
  • Arabic and Religion, if taken, must be stamped by the General Examinations Department.
  • Proof of 12 years of schooling stamped by the Educational Administration.
  • Original birth certificate (computerized).
  • Copy of Egyptian national ID.
  • Copy of passport (optional for Egyptians and required for non-Egyptian applicants).
  • 6 passport-size photos.
  • Military forms 2 and 6 (Males only).

For transferred students, in addition to the above:

  • Original Withdrawal Letter (for private universities only).
  • Course description signed and stamped by the previous university.
  • Transcript stamped by the University and the Supreme Council of Universities.
  • Bayan Hala (بيان حالة) stamped by the previous university.

 

  • The final grade is calculated out of 700.
  • The accepted section for Engineering, ITCS, and Biotechnology schools is the scientific section (علمي), and for the School of Business Administration, the art (أدبي) or the scientific section (علمي). 

For Stem 2023/2024:

For Transferred Students, in addition to the above:

Applicant should have completed the Baccalaureate diploma degree and satisfied its general requirements. Transfer credit may be granted. Students should have 6 subjects, following these roles: 3 subjects at a higher level and 3 subjects at a standard level.

  • For Engineering and ITCS majors: Math and Physics at a higher level are required.
  • For Biotechnology majors: Chemistry and Biology at a higher level are required.
  • For Business majors: any 3 subjects at a higher level plus the standard level.

N.B. Students should have passed the Extended Essay and Theory of Knowledge subjects.

  • Official IB Certificates.

  • Arabic and Religion subjects, if taken, stamped by General Examinations Department.
  • Proof of 12 years of schooling stamped by the Educational Administration.
  • Original birth certificate (computerized).
  • Copy of Egyptian national ID.
  • Copy of passport (optional for Egyptians and required for non-Egyptian applicants).
  • 6 passport-size photos.
  • Military Form 2 & 6 (Male only).
  • For students who studied outside of Egypt, they should submit a Movement Certificate (شهادة تحركات).

Nile University accepts applicants with a minimum average of "passable" grades. Transfer credits may be granted.

English, Math, Physics, and Chemistry are required for engineering programs.

  • Official French BAC Certificates.

  • Arabic and Religion subjects, if taken, stamped by General Examinations Department.
  • Proof of 12 years of schooling stamped by the Educational Administration.
  • Original birth certificate (computerized).
  • Copy of Egyptian national ID.
  • Copy of passport (optional for Egyptians and required for non-Egyptian applicants).
  • 6 passport-size photos.
  • Military Form 2 & 6 (Male only).
  • For students who studied outside of Egypt, they should submit a Movement Certificate (شهادة تحركات).

N.B:
For Transferred Students, in addition to the above::

  • Original Withdrawal Letter (for private universities only).
  • Course description signed and stamped from the previous university.
  • Transcript stamped from the University and the Supreme Council of Universities.

Nile University accepts admission of applicants with a minimum average of 4.0. Transfer credits may be granted.

For Engineering and ITCS majors, English, math, physics, and chemistry are required.
Students should have 7 subjects in G12 and G11. Following these roles at least 3 subjects in Advanced level.

  • Official IB Certificates.

  • Arabic and Religion subjects, if taken, stamped by General Examinations Department.
  • Proof of 12 years of schooling stamped by the Educational Administration.
  • Original birth certificate (computerized).
  • Copy of Egyptian national ID.
  • Copy of passport (optional for Egyptians and required for non-Egyptian applicants).
  • 6 passport-size photos.
  • Military Form 2 & 6 (Male only).
  • For students who studied outside of Egypt, they should submit a Movement Certificate (شهادة تحركات).

For Transferred Students, in addition to the above:

For Engineering and ITCS Majors: English, Maths, Physics, and Chemistry are required. Math is required in both G11 and G12. For Business Major: English and Maths are required.
For Biotechnology Major: English Math, Biology. Biology is required in both G11 and G12.

N.B: For other certificates from other countries, Nile University follows the general rules set by the Ministry of Higher Education. Also, Nile University accepts applicants with a minimum score which is subject to change each year upon the Supreme Council of Private and Ahleya Universities' decision, it’s changeable upon every year's admission.

 

Acceptance Test:

All applying students are required to show proof of English proficiency by achieving the level indicated in one of three testing alternatives below:

  • A score of 61 or above in the IBT (http://www.ets.org/portal/site/ets/menuitem).
  • A score of 6 or above in the IELTS (http://www.britishcouncil.org/egypt-exams-english-exams-ielts.htm).
  • A score of B2 or above in the Oxford exam (no retakes for this exam).

  • Official Canadian Diploma Certificates.

  • Arabic and Religion subjects, if taken, stamped by General Examinations Department.
  • Proof of 12 years of schooling stamped by the Educational Administration.
  • Original birth certificate (computerized).
  • Copy of Egyptian national ID.
  • Copy of passport (optional for Egyptians and required for non-Egyptian applicants).
  • 6 passport-size photos.
  • Military Form 2 & 6 (Male only).
  • For students who studied outside of Egypt, they should submit a Movement Certificate (شهادة تحركات).

For Postgraduates

  • Original Bachelor's Certificates.
  • Original of all university-level transcripts.
  • Original Equivalent Certificate (for private university graduates only).
  • Personal statement.
  • Recent Resume (CV).
  • Copy of National ID or Passport.
  • Four recent passport-size photographs.
  • Three recommendation letters.

For English:

  • A score of 61 or above in IBT (AMIDEAST). A score of 500 or above in ITP (Institutional TOEFL) administered by AMIDEAST.   
  • A score of 6 or above in IELTS is administered by the British Council.

N.B:

  • For M.Sc. MOT: IB TOEFL 79.00 and above with 24 and above for writing or IELTS 6.50 and above with 6.50 and above for writing. 

 

  • Original Master's degree certificate. 
  • Original Master's degree transcript.
  • Original of all university-level degrees (Bachelor's).
  • Original of all university transcripts (Bachelor's).
  • Original Equivalent Certificate for both Bachelor's and Master's degrees if from private universities or universities outside Egypt.
  • Personal Statement.
  • Recent Resume (CV).
  • Copy of National ID or Passport.
  • Four recent passport-size photographs.
  • Three recommendation letters.

For English:

  • A score of 61 or above in IBT (AMIDEAST). A score of 500 or above in ITP (Institutional TOEFL) administered by AMIDEAST.      
  • A score of 6 or above in IELTS is administered by the British Council.

N.B:
​For the Ph.D. MOT: IB TOEFL from 94 and above, with 27 and above for writing, or IELTS from 7.50 and above with 7.00 and above for writing.
