Dr. Kareem Noureldin is an Assistant Professor in the Mechanical Engineering Program at Nile University, Cairo, Egypt. Kareem is an alumnus of the German University in Cairo and has an MSc. Eng. and Ph.D. from RWTH-Aachen University in Germany. Kareem worked as a research scientist at the Institute of Solar Research of the German Aerospace Center in Stuttgart, Germany. His research is in the field of transient system simulations of solar thermal power plants, especially parabolic trough solar fields. His work is focused on optimizing the energy yield during dynamic weather and operation conditions.
He developed a dynamic simulation tool for large parabolic trough solar fields for real-time control optimization to maximize the energy yield. He also worked on hybrid energy systems, including solar PV, solar thermal and thermal storage power plants.
He is currently working on maximizing the penetration ratio of renewable energy sources for industrial applications through system integration.
- Solar Heat for Industrial Processes.
- Integration of solar thermal systems for industrial process heat.
