Job Summary

The Student Life Specialist serves as a resource to the Center for Student Life and Involvement and all on-campus student clubs and organizations, performing general office duties and assisting in engaging students. The Student Life Specialist also assists with marketing campus programming and activities within the Center for Student Life and Involvement department as needed.

Job Description

  • Actively participate in all college activities that contribute to student retention and completion.

  • Perform general office duties, including greeting visitors and students, answering phone calls, managing files, ordering and tracking supplies, and maintaining office order.

  • Employ, supervise, and train student assistants for the Student Life office and Recreation Room.
  • Assist with budgets by tracking expenditures, completing purchase requisitions, and handling other items related to the operation of the office.
  • Maintain and update the main campus event calendars.
  • Maintain and update records and documents related to the Student Service Fee Advisory Committee.
  • Organize and manage all student life facility application requests in coordination with the Master Calendar Coordinator.
  • Lead the overall strategy and management of the Center for Student Life and Involvement's social media presence, coordinate social media campaigns, monitor progress using web analytics tools, and oversee all relevant social media interactions, answering inquiries as needed.
  • Arrange and coordinate student life travel for both staff and students, including hotels, conference registrations, travel forms, and other related items.
  • Perform any additional new tasks assigned by management that are within the same specialty and nature of daily work.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in any related field required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
