Biography

Dr. Youssef has more than 35 years of experience. He has a Ph.D. in Energy Economics /Urban Planning from Ohio State University; an M.S. in Energy Management and Policy from the University of Pennsylvania; and a B.S. in Nuclear Engineering from the University of Alexandria, Egypt. 


Dr. Youssef Hegazy has extensive consulting and research experience providing economic, technical, strategic, and business analysis to the U.S. and international energy industry. He specializes in market assessment and analytical activities related to the energy markets, food security asset class, and M&A process.  


His professional experience includes market and investment assessments, regulatory policy analysis, market behavior and forecast, integrated resource planning and demand side management, asset valuation, and competitive bidding evaluation.  In addition, he has written academic and industrial papers and reports on energy modeling and economics and presented at national and international conferences and forums. 
Dr. Hegazy’s career extended for 35 years, working as VP, Strategic and Executive Consultant, Senior Economist, Senior Researcher, and Lecturer.
 

Representative Projects:

  • Managing the development of a large cogeneration power plant in S. Wales, UK, on behalf of QPI.
  • National Renewable Energy Lab and the Department of Energy economic modeling and analysis for the projected deployment of new renewable energy technologies.
  • Manage and lead independent consultant studies for more than 50 major industrial and energy clients in North America and worldwide.
  • Performed expert witness testimonies relating to market and regulatory issues at different Public Utility Commissions, DOE (USA, Guam and the Philippines).
