Establishment of a Biomass Lab

The main goal of establishing a Biomass Lab at Nile University is to thoroughly investigate the potential use of biomass and agricultural waste as a fuel or a material with desirable properties for many engineering applications. The lab will investigate the properties of different biomass materials produced and processed using different techniques and then assess their physical/chemical properties and test their suitability for specific applications. The successful use of biomass to replace other chemical/synthetic materials has the advantage of reduced cost, lower environmental footprint and biodegradability.
