Wessal-NU

Wessal-NU is dedicated to one specific cause or a group of related causes. For example, Wessal aims to try to spread awareness among people and students, specifically about the importance of teamwork to help all families, needy children and orphans. It aims at spreading this kind of awareness to help people understand that this is a vital factor in obtaining true happiness and adding an impact on the lives of all those in need.

It also emphasizes the importance of the professional development of its members by encouraging independent creativity and business leadership, which will not only help in their own growth but will spread to include others as well.

Mission

The club centers around providing essential resources to individuals in need while also fostering a culture of charitable awareness among students within the university. Recognizing the transformative power of acts of kindness and selflessness, it aims to cultivate a genuine interest in philanthropy and the principles of giving back. By instilling a sense of compassion and social responsibility, it seeks to empower university students to make a positive impact on the communities and create a ripple effect of generosity that extends far beyond the university walls, contributing to the betterment of society as a whole.

From vision to reality: the founders’ story by (Marwa Elbadawy)

Marwa Elbadawy, a Mechatronics Engineering student, is the visionary founder of Wessal club at Nile University. Originally a student club at her previous school, Marwa felt a strong desire to continue making a positive impact and sought permission from the co-founders of Wesal to establish it at NU .

Her goal was to inspire students to engage in acts of kindness and giving on a daily basis. Having started her journey in high school, Marwa recognized the need for a charity club at university that would instill in students the values of giving and the significance of making a difference in the community.

Although initially faced with challenges in capturing students' attention, as charity work often did not elicit much excitement, Marwa displayed remarkable perseverance, patience, and resilience. Through her unwavering dedication, Marwa was able to generate interest and build a vibrant community of compassionate individuals under the umbrella of WesalNU. Her unwavering drive to encourage students to give back and make a positive impact has transformed WesalNU into a beacon of charity and a platform for charitable endeavors.

Achievements

Store day at NU (Wessal store): They do weekly events and get to sell handmade accessories and dedicate some of their profit to helping people.
Distributing 56 blankets in the village of (zat_AlKoum) in Al-Warraq in 2022.

Wessal-NU Ramadan’s charity campaign: Wessal-NU warmed NUians' hearts with their charity event selling handmade products that were made with love by their colleagues. Generously, part of the money will be given to people who need it.
Organizing Ramadan bags event in 2022 and 2023. and giving them to families in need.
Organizing events to collect clothes to give them to underprivileged families.
