Dr. Mohamed El-Erian’s Live Lecture with Nile University

Benefiting from the knowledge of global figures has long been considered part and parcel of Nile University’s academic culture. Nile University (NU) was not held back from continuing its influential role towards its students, society, and the world during the pandemic crisis. Its live lectures by prominent lecturers worldwide have become an event for many people, especially when leading world leaders want to collaborate with the University. Dr. Mohamed A. El-Erian, the former CEO and co-CIO of PIMCO is a worldwide recognized economist who broadcasted live from California on NU’s Facebook page to give a lecture under the title “Economic Management in the Coronavirus Era.”

The lecture will go live on Thursday, May 7th, 2020, at 9:00 P.M., where he’ll tackle important economic themes that can open new horizons to handling the great recession the world is experiencing these days. Mohamed A. El-Erian has worked on economic and financial issues in the public and private sectors. He is currently the Chief Economic Advisor at Allianz, the corporate parent of PIMCO, where he formerly served as chief executive and co-chief investment officer (2007-14). Working as president and CEO of Harvard Management Company (HMC) for two years was substantial for HMC investment returns. He skillfully managed the investment of the University’s endowment assets and its funds. From December 2012 to January 2017, Dr. El-Erian chaired President Obama’s Global Development Council. As president-elect of Queens’ College, Cambridge, he is scheduled to be its president in October 2020. He also has his fingerprint in the publication world of international economic and finance topics. His 2008 book, “When Markets Collide,” was a New York Times and Wall Street Journal bestseller, won the Financial Times/Goldman Sachs Business Book of the Year, and was named a book of the year by The Economist and one of the best business books of all time by the Independent (UK). His 2016 book, “The Only Game in Town: Central Banks, Instability and Avoiding the Next Collapse,” was also a New York Times bestseller and was listed by Inc. as one of the “25 of the Most Inspiring Books Everyone Should Read.” On Thursday, the live lecture will be followed by all of the NU faculty, students, and dignitaries from the government and business world.
