Celebrating BTCH Alumni Success at the BIB Incubator 2025

We are proud to announce that Gensect, a biotech startup founded by graduates of Nile University’s School of Biotechnology, has achieved a remarkable milestone at the Business Incubator in Biotechnology (BIB) under the theme “Today’s Idea... Tomorrow’s Future.”

Gensect ranked 3rd out of 17 competing startups, placing among the Top 5 for their innovative project focused on producing organic feed and fertilizer from organic waste using black soldier fly larvae — a sustainable solution that addresses critical agricultural and environmental challenges in Egypt and beyond.

The Demo Day was hosted at Ain Shams University, Faculty of Agriculture, and brought together academic leaders, biotech entrepreneurs, and innovation experts — including representatives from Nile University’s Biotech School, Ain Shams University, and the Academy of Scientific Research & Technology (ASRT), which proudly funds the BIB incubator. ASRT innovation experts not only attended the event but also served on the judging panel, reflecting their active engagement and the national significance of the initiative.

This event also marked a key milestone in the ongoing collaboration between Nile University and Ain Shams University as strategic partners in the BIB program, reaffirming their shared commitment to advancing biotechnology innovation in Egypt.

We couldn’t be prouder of our alumni’s contribution to promoting local, eco-friendly biotech solutions and their recognition at a national level
