Agreement to Establish International Green Hydrogen Center with Nile University

Minister of the Cabinet, witnessed the signing of an agreement to establish an International Green Hydrogen Center between the Nile University and GH2 Green Hydrogen Organization, and in the presence of Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research. Dr. Wael Akel, President of Nile University, and Mr. Jonas Moberg, CEO of Green Hydrogen Organization GH2, signed them.
On the sidelines of the signature, Dr. Ayman Ashour stated that the goals of the Center include strengthening the efforts of the state in the field of renewable energy and green hydrogen economy, building capacities in this promising field, and contributing to the provision of technical assistance to Egypt and African countries, as well as accelerating the financing of renewable and green hydrogen projects, contributing to Making Egypt a hub for green hydrogen production and a leading destination for foreign direct investment.
Dr. Wael Akel, President of the Nile University, noted that the main paths of
action of the agreement include accelerating the financing of green hydrogen projects, inviting multilateral development banks to work in this field in Egypt and develop good practices, along with organizing relevant forums, and working on establishing a financial advisory group aimed at developing solutions Innovative financing, ensuring compliance with international standards and certifications for green hydrogen.
Dr. Wael Akel added that the agreement aims to contribute to the development of the green hydrogen manufacturing standard in Egypt, to develop and support certificates of origin, and to align Egyptian standards with global standards, as well as shares in securing market access and strengthening competitiveness in agreements related to the purchase of green hydrogen, and shares in identification ideal terms and financial incentives.
Dr. Wael Akl clarified that the agreement also aims to support the development of market access strategies, facilitate regional cooperation through the AGHA African Green Hydrogen Alliance activities, promote collaboration with significant export markets, develop training programs, and strengthen partnerships with local industries, create and promote local job opportunities The technical skills.
