"Adaptive Design Strategies to Climate Change" Lecture by Jose Marquez Santoyo

The Architecture and Urban Design (ARUD) program is holding a lecture concerned with environmental design strategies, titled "Adaptive Design Strategies to climate change" by guest lecturer and Associate Architect Jose Marquez Santoyo on November 8th, 2022, at 11:00 AM -12:30 PM.

Jose Marquez Santoyo is an Associate Architect at Arup. He has 17 years of experience as an architect at all project stages, with proven design and management skills. His leadership and holistic approach to projects enables jobs to be delivered up to the highest professional standards whilst maintaining and enhancing their original design intent. José's experience includes a wide range of tendering strategies in both the UK and Spain. The experience gained during his early years in the profession has given him a broad understanding of materials and construction methods and has helped him to acquire a technical and pragmatic approach to the profession, from the macro to the micro scale. Over the last year, José has led two high profile commercial buildings in Madrid, in addition to a prototypical energy project in the UK, the design and delivery of a metro station in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, as well as the concept and design development stages of a high-speed rail station in the UK. Jose is currently responsible for the Architecture and Specialties team in the Madrid office.

Associate Architect Jose Marquez Santoyo will walk us through the recent environmental design techniques, followed by an interesting discussion with the attendees.
The lecture will be in a hybrid mode; physical and online.
