The 14th Meeting of the Scientific Committee of the Egyptian Genome Project at NU

On the 18th of December 2021, Nile University was honored to host the 14th meeting of the scientific committee of the Egyptian Genome Project in the presence of the president of Nile University, Prof. Wael Akl, Major General Prof. Khaled Amer, CEO of Egypt Center of Research and Regenerative Medicine (ECRRM) and the PI of the Egyptian genome project and Prof. Yehia Gad, the chair of the scientific committee of the Egyptian Genome Project.

The welcome speech was initiated by Prof. Ahmed Radwan, the vice president of research, who gave a short presentation about research at Nile University, focusing on the different research centers and achievements of Nile University in the study. Regarding academic programs, Prof. Ahmed Hassan, the dean of the School of Information Technology and Computer Science (ITCS), briefly talked about the school's vision and how graduates of the offered programs can serve the genome project.

Finally, Dr. Mohamed El Hadidi, assistant professor of Bioinformatics, Head of the Bioinformatics Research Group at Nile University, and member of the scientific committee, gave a small presentation about current research trends in the fields of Bioinformatics and genomics at Nile University.

Following the meeting, members of the scientific committee had a tour of the impactful units at Nile University, including NilePreneurs Initiative, Innovation hub, Design house, and FACT Center.
