Prof. Sahar Fawzi, a Full Professor at the Information Technology and Computer Science School of Nile University,
Throughout her career, she has been instrumental in various capacities, having headed the Center for Advanced Software and Biomedical Engineering Consultations. Her research interests span a wide array of fields including Modeling and Finite Element Analysis, Telemedicine, Hospital Information Systems, Medical Image processing, Arabic text-to-speech systems, Speech & Speaker recognition, and Speech Emotion Recognition. Sahar's academic leadership extends to curriculum development for the Systems & Biomedical Engineering Department and the Healthcare Engineering and Management Program (HEM) at Cairo University. She excels in course planning and assessment material development for subjects ranging from medical instrumentation to computer networks and programming languages.
Dr. Sahar is actively engaged in cutting-edge projects such as the "Portable Image Processing Platform for Retinal Prosthesis" as Co-Principal Investigator and the "EgHeathGPT" mega project.
currently leads the Strategic Management Office and the Post Graduate council within the school. With a robust academic background, Dr. Sahar obtained her Bachelor's, Master’s, and PhD degrees from the Systems & Biomedical Engineering Department – Cairo University
- she contributes to the academic community through organizing special sessions and serving on Technical Program Committees (TPC) for international conferences.
- with over 10 PhD and 25 master’s theses supervised, Sahar has authored numerous research papers and Guided graduation projects, emphasizing pioneering applications such as VR Rehabilitation Games, Educational Course Design, AR to assist the elderly and visually impaired, alongside a range of applications for healthcare and clinic information systems.
