Israa El-Maghraby is an architect, computational designer, researcher and instructor in Architecture and Urban Design Program at Nile University. She received her bachelor's degree from Alexandria University (AU) in 2010, followed by an M.Sc. degree in 2016. Her thesis resulted in creating a computational supporting decision system to design a high-performance façade in accordance with LEED requirements. She is currently a candidate Ph.D. student at AU, examining the usage of Multi-Agent Systems in Architecture.
Since 2011, Israa has been a teaching assistant in the Architectural Engineering and Environmental Design Department at the Arab Academy for Science and Technology, where she co-taught several architectural design studios. Being specialized in the area of contemporary computational design technologies and their consequences on the design process and architecture realization paved the opportunity for her to work and collaborate as an architectural/computational designer, and a BIM architect at distinguished leading architecture companies in the Arab region.
