Dr. Nevine Abdelkhalek holds a charter manager status with the Charter Management Institute at the UK, as well as a Ph.D. in Human Resources and has a vast experience in the field of Education for Development and Continuing Education as she started her career in Education through her postgraduate studies in Boston University and teaching in the Edward Devotion School in Brookline, Boston. She worked for over 22 years with the development programs provided by the Canadian Fund, the USAID and the EU which gave her a first-hand experience with the actual needs of the deprived communities in Egypt. Dr. Abdelkhalek worked closely with the Ministry of Education when she was the Team Leader that put together the foundation and the presidential decree of the Professional Academy for Teachers (PAT) in 2006 - 2008, led the Human Resources section of the five-year strategic plan of the Ministry for 2007 – 2012, was part of the team that started the restructuring of the Ministry of education as well as served as a consultant that developed the PAT strategic plan with the PAT staff in 2010. In 2015 Dr. Abdelkhalek led the team that worked on the strategic plan of the Ministry of Urban Renewal and Informal Settlements that included the drafting of the newly established ministry vision and mission. She also founded in 2011 the Excellence in Engineering Forum. From 2008 to 2022 was the Vice president of Engineering Consultant group (ECG) based in Egypt. Lately In 2020 she co-founded AfricaConsults.
Dr. Abdelkhalek assumed different posts in her career and is currently Dean, The School of Continuing Education, Nile University in Egypt. Among her achievements is the design and development of the Professional Academy for Teachers and the initiation of two main sustainable projects; One in Upper Egypt in the field of Illiteracy “Eliminating the Sources of Illiteracy” and also University To Work (UTW) and School To Work (STW) Initiatives. She has also lately supported the initiation of UNICEF and Rotary District 2451 - Egypt - "Water for Life" Project that is being implemented in Upper Egypt since 2013. Dr. Abdelkhalek was the organizing committee chair of the 1st Water Summit with the Rotary & UNICEF that was Under the Auspices of Prime Minister H E. Eng. Ibrahim Mahleb in June 2014 entitled Water is Life. Besides this she was the organizing chair of Egypt Tour of The greatest Meal to End Polio and End Polio Flame during the World Tour. Among her achievements also the organization of the round table of Investment in Upper Egypt in Summer of 2015 focusing on Assiut and Sohag with the Egyptian Businessmen Association (EBA) as well as “Made in Egypt” Forum and Exhibition for Sohag Ethnic products as well as the First Summit of Building Future Egypt in February 2016 and the second in March 2017 focusing on the Suez Canal Corridor and the new administrative capital. She has been leading since 2017 the ECG team in IMPAQT project funded by Erasmus – EU Funded project to establish architecture department at Nile University
Dr. Abdelkhalek has always been known as the Philanthropist among her family, friends and colleagues from a very young age. She was elected lately as the Chair of the American University School of Continuing Education Advisory Board of 2015 – 2017 and had chaired the same board before during (2009-2012). In the same time she assumed the responsibilities of Treasurer of Hope Village for street children from 2008 to 2011). The chair of the CSR committee of the Egyptian Businessmen Association (EBA) in Cairo and She is served as the chair of the Board of Trustees of The Egyptian European organization for training & development (EEOTD) till 2018. Dr. Abdellkhalek also served on the Board of Directors of the BPW Emirates- Egypt. In her capacity as EBA Sustainable committee chair, she organized the First Seminar on "Accessibility and its role in employment opportunities for citizens with disability", as well as the organization of the Economic Forum in Upper Egypt entitled, Investment in Upper Egypt: Opportunities and Challenges. Beside this Dr. Abdelkhalek led, as EEOTD Chairman, the training for employment initiative in cooperation with the Ministry of Urban Renewal and Informal Settlements and most of all the establishment and leading of the Human Resources and Organization Development Sector of ECG form 2008 to 2018.
Dr. Abdelkhalek led presentations at different International Education conferences like TESOL in the USA, the UK and Spain and several Rotary District Seminars and PETS and Zone Institute and three Rotary International Conventions and is a Rotary Leadership Institute faculty. Furthermore, she is both a Benefactor and a Major Donor. She received numerous awards at the district level that included
the District Governor citation in 2010-2011 and at the RI Level received the Avenues of Service Citation in 2010 and in 2013 - 2014. She has also received the Shield of the Red Sea Governorate for her efforts as recognition from the Red Sea Governor in October 2014.
Dr. Nevine Abdelkhalek recently chaired in January 2016 the Egypt District Vocational Seminar in Soma Bay that focused on Sustainable, Integrated vocational service projects and youth preparation for the workplace. And the one taking place in January 2019 in Hurgada Entrepreneurship and Technical Education for better economy. Dr. Abdelkhalek has also chaired Egypt Projects Summit: Building Future Egypt, a 2-day conference organized by ECG Engineering Consultants Group and Arab-German for Exhibitions and Publishing (AGEX) during the period from February 18-19, 2016 and was appointed to chair the summit of 2017 and 2018 with Batimat Egypt. She is also the Executive President of the incoming Urban Development and Sustainable Construction Summit taking place in June 2021 and reappointed for the edition in June 2022.
