Nile University recently signed a memorandum of understanding with the Arab Union for the Protection of Intellectual Property Rights, an organization operating under the Council of Arab Economic Unity, which is affiliated with the League of Arab States.
University President Dr. Wael AKl and Dr. Osama Moussa Al-Baytar, lawyer and Secretary-General of the Arab Union for the Protection of Intellectual Property Rights, led the discussions between the two entities. The agreement was facilitated by Dr. Hebatalla Kaoud, Director of the Intellectual Property and Technology Transfer Office (IPTTO) and assistant professor at the Graduate School of Management of Technology, along with Dr. Alaa El-Din Adris, Professor at the Graduate School of Management of Technology and IPTTO Advisor , and Dr. Sami Kreishan, Executive Director of the Arab Union for the Protection of Intellectual Property Rights.
Also present were Dr. Tarek Khalil, founding president of Nile University; Dr. Ahmed Radwan, vice president for research; and Dr. Youhansen Eid, University Provost.
The MOU establishes a framework for collaborative research and academic activities that will foster a culture of intellectual property awareness and technology commercialization, not only within Egypt but also throughout the Arab region, contributing to the development of a knowledge-based economy.
