Nile University Hosts Major General Samir Farag for a Seminar on National Security and Current Challenges

In line with Nile University’s mission to build student awareness and foster national belonging, the university, led by Dr. Wael Akl, hosted Major General Samir Farag ( strategic expert and former Director of the Morale Affairs Department of the Armed Forces ) for a seminar titled: "Egyptian National Security: Challenges and Essentials."
The event coincided with Egypt’s Sinai Liberation Day celebrations, emphasizing the importance of national consciousness and pride in the nation’s history and sacrifices.
Major General Farag discussed the key challenges facing Egypt’s national security and the essential factors for its protection, highlighting the crucial role of youth in supporting state stability. He stressed that, for the first time in history, Egypt faces threats along all its borders, making the development of national identity a top priority.
Farag praised Nile University's contributions to scientific research, innovation, and entrepreneurship, describing it as a vital investment hub for young talents. He urged students to adopt rational thinking and not to fall for rumors or spread misinformation on social media.
He explained that Egypt faces complex regional challenges, including conflicts in Gaza, southern Lebanon, and broader global tensions, all posing direct threats to regional stability. Farag commended President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi's leadership in managing these crises and praised the Armed Forces for securing the nation's borders with professionalism and strength.
Regarding Palestine, Farag noted that despite difficult circumstances, Palestinian factions, particularly Hamas, played a key role in reviving the cause internationally. He acknowledged Hamas's flexibility towards Egypt by accepting proposals for Gaza's administration without appointing members from the movement.
Farag emphasized Egypt's historic resilience in overcoming wars and crises through national unity and strong institutions. He reaffirmed Egypt’s firm stance against any plans aimed at displacing Palestinians.
Dr. Wael Akl expressed his pleasure in hosting Major General Farag, describing him as a valuable national figure whose experience should inspire future generations. He highlighted the university’s commitment to being a center of thought and awareness, preparing students to engage with their country's critical issues.
The seminar concluded with Dr. Akl presenting Nile University's shield to Major General Farag in recognition of his distinguished national service.
