Vienna, Austria – Nile University has recently participated at the PATLIB Conference, showcasing its commitment to intellectual property and technology transfer, represented by Dr. Hebatalla Kaoud, Assistant Professor at the Graduate School of Management of Technology and Director of the Intellectual Property Office (IPTTO). Her invitation to this prestigious event highlights the university's significant contributions to strengthening intellectual property (IP) and technology commercialization processes.
 
This conference was an incredible opportunity for our university’s representative to connect with dedicated individuals and top-tier IP experts from around the globe. "It was an incredible experience meeting in person the dedicated individuals we usually connect with online, and networking with top IP experts from around the world," Dr. Kaoud remarked.
 
Another key point of the conference was meeting with and collaborating with representatives from our twin university; Istanbul's Sabanci University, aimed at advancing Nile University's IPTTO development plan regarding IP and technology licensing.
 
The conference also emphasized the impact of the Knowledge Transfer to Africa (KT2A) initiative launched by the European Patent Office. Dr. Kaoud noted Nile University's proactive role in fostering an innovative IP culture within Egypt and the broader African region, stating, "I'm proud of Nile University's active contribution to strengthening the IP culture," Dr. Kaoud stated.

Furthermore, she attended sessions addressing the importance of supporting global innovation, particularly leveraging the example of knowledge transfer to Africa and other regions. She also participated in talks on advancing patent information, including the use of EPO tools and AI-powered platforms. Her involvement in these diverse sessions highlighted Nile University's advancements and commitment to leveraging intellectual property for socio-economic development, especially within the framework of the Knowledge Transfer to Africa (KT2A) initiative.
