Physician

Job Summary:

The position holder serves as a full-time physician for the Nile University community members, providing medical care addressing issues which relate to keeping personnel on the job and healthy, treating job related injuries and illnesses, emergency care for all members of the NU including treating chronic diseases that affect employee or student performance.

Job Responsibilities 

• Providing continuous medical care of highest quality to NU community patients requiring routine, emergency care and treatment, according to the most updated best practice clinical guidelines.
• Providing medical treatment for all patients at the NU clinics.
• Providing guidance, consultations and problem solving, regarding health insurance related issues.
• Granting medical excuses to NU students whenever needed.
•  Appropriately referring patients to other external healthcare providers.
•  Providing services in support of health promotion and preventive medicine.
•  Maintaining appropriate, accurate and complete medical records of patients examined at NU clinics.
• Follow up of chronic patients.
•  Attending commencements as an on-call physician for emergencies (upon request).
•  Serving as physician on call.
• Following up hospital admission cases (by phone and/or visits).
•  Performing other related duties as required by the position or as assigned.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery.
• +5 years of relevant experience.
• Knowledge of the legal and ethical standards for the delivery of healthcare services.
• Knowledge of relevant drugs and non-pharmacological patient’s care aids and ability to prescribe dosages and instruct patients on correct usage.
• Ability to maintain quality, patient safety and infection control standards.
• Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
• Maintain medical professional standards and knowledge.
• Being a part of the clinical team and contributing in the reviews of the medical procedures and protocols at the clinic.
•  Excellent proficiency in English and Arabic in speaking, reading and writing, and medical documentation.
•  Preparation of medical reports in English and Arabic
•  Basic computer skills.
•  Knowledge of the concepts of private and governmental medical insurance and their implimentations.
