Biography

Silvia George is a motivated biotechnologist with experience in stem cell biology, regenerative medicine and molecular biology. She received her B.Sc. degree with honors from Faculty of Biotechnology, MUST University in 2015. She further obtained her MSc degree in Biotechnology from Faculty of Science, Cairo university in 2022, with a thesis entitled “Characterization of Adipose-Derived Mesenchymal Stem Cells (AdMSCs) by Flow Cytometry”. Her work involved studying the potentiality of AdMSCs to differentiate into osteogenic lineage. This included the isolation of AdMSCs from different adipose lipoaspirate samples and their molecular characterization as well as the molecular analysis of surface markers by flow cytometry.

During her career path, Silvia worked as R&D specialist in EVA Pharma factory as well as a researcher at Bio-repository Research Department and a Chemist at Molecular Virology and Immunology diagnostic lab at 57357 Children’s Cancer Hospital. In September 2023, Silvia started working as an Instructor at the School of Biotechnology with a focus on mammalian cell culture-related courses.
