Nile University Hosts High-Level Delegation from China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA)

Nile University was honored to welcome a distinguished delegation from the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA), led by Mr. HU Wenhui, Deputy Commissioner, in a milestone visit that reflects the growing collaboration between Egypt and China in innovation, intellectual property, and technology transfer.
The visit was coordinated through the Egyptian Authority for Intellectual Property under the presidency of Prof. Hisham Azmy, and organized through the collaboration of Ms. Menatalla El Kotamy, Acting Director of IP & Public Health at the Egyptian Authority for IP, and Dr. Heba Kaoud, Director of the Intellectual Property and Technology Transfer Office (IPTTO) at Nile University.
Acting President Dr. Essam Roushdy welcomed the delegation and highlighted Nile University’s fourth-generation university model, integrating research, innovation, and community impact to transform academic discoveries into real-world value.
Highlighting the IPTTO’s successful "Lab to Market" trajectory, Dr. Heba Kaoud, Associate Professor of Management of Technology and Director of IPTTO showcased the office’s key achievements in IP management and technology transfer. She further outlined a strategic 90-day pilot program designed to align NU inventions with Chinese market opportunities and CNIPA’s patent industrialization goals.
Dr. Ahmed El Mahdy, Acting Vice President for Research, showcased the strategic direction of Nile University’s research centers and emphasized the close collaboration between research and innovation offices to maximize research impact.
Founding President Dr. Tarek Khalil also addressed the delegation, reflecting on the long-standing relationship between Egypt and China in innovation, research, and industrial development.
During the visit, Mr. HU Wenhui expressed his admiration for Nile University’s advanced research ecosystem and confirmed CNIPA’s commitment to supporting future cooperation initiatives and capacity-building programs between both sides.
