Minister of Parliamentary and Legal Affairs Engages in Youth Empowerment Dialogue at Nile University

In line with the Ministry of Parliamentary and Legal Affairs' commitment to political communication and raising awareness among youth, Minister Mahmoud Fawzy participated in an open dialogue session titled "Youth Empowerment: A Dream Becoming Reality" at Nile University.

 

The event witnessed a significant presence of students, faculty deans, and professors, engaging in a productive discussion on youth empowerment and their role in societal development. This initiative reflects the Ministry's efforts to foster political awareness and facilitate direct communication with younger generations.

 

Prof. Wael Akl, President of Nile University, warmly welcomed Minister Fawzy, expressing his gratitude for the Minister’s participation and emphasizing the importance of such events in bridging the university with the Ministry. He highlighted Nile University’s role in preparing students to face challenges and contribute effectively to decision-making processes. Prof. Akl elaborated on the university's strategic goals, including advancing academic curricula, promoting scientific research, enhancing leadership skills, and supporting entrepreneurship and startups.

 

Minister Mahmoud Fawzy provided an overview of the Ministry’s responsibilities, which include representing the government in parliament, acting as a liaison between the National Dialogue Board of Trustees and the government, and facilitating communication with political parties, unions, and civil society entities. He also emphasized the Ministry’s efforts in human rights, political participation, and increasing youth and women’s involvement in the national dialogue.

 

The Minister highlighted Egypt’s commitment, under President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi's leadership, to empowering youth. This is evident in presidential initiatives aimed at youth development, including the establishment of the National Academy for Training and Qualifying Youth. He noted the progress made in providing young leaders with key positions within the government, governorates, and legislative councils, showcasing the tangible success of youth empowerment policies.

 

Minister Fawzy further emphasized the role of the National Dialogue in empowering youth, explaining how young individuals were entrusted with organizing the dialogue and contributing to its technical secretariat. He noted the inclusion of a dedicated youth committee within the societal axis of the dialogue, underlining the diversity of youth voices involved in shaping national recommendations and policy proposals.
 

Addressing entrepreneurship, Minister Fawzy commended the government's efforts to support youth-led projects and startups by providing necessary resources and removing barriers for entrepreneurs. He referenced the formation of the Ministerial Group for Entrepreneurship, chaired by the Minister of Planning and Economic Development, as a significant step toward fostering innovation and coordination among various governmental initiatives supporting entrepreneurs.

 

The session concluded with a dynamic Q&A, where Minister Fawzy praised the students' engagement and reiterated the Ministry’s commitment to maintaining direct communication channels with youth, recognizing them as essential partners in building Egypt's future.
