Senior Events & Public Relations Specialist (6 Month Contract)
Job Summary
The Senior Events & PR Specialist is responsible for planning, managing, and executing high-profile events and public relations activities that enhance the institution’s brand image, media presence, and stakeholder engagement. The role ensures strategic alignment between events, PR initiatives, institutional messaging, and business objectives while maintaining high operational and reputational standards.
Job Description
1. Strategic Planning & PR Execution
- Develop and implement integrated PR and events plans aligned with NU marketing and communication strategy.
- Translate NU objectives into effective PR campaigns and event concepts.
- Support leadership positioning through events, media activities, and public engagements.
- Ensure brand consistency across all PR materials, events, and external communications.
2. Event Management & Execution
- Lead end-to-end planning and execution of internal and external events, including:Conferences, forums, workshops, open days, ceremonies, press events, VIP visits, and corporate partnerships events.
- Manage event timelines, budgets, logistics, risk assessments, and contingency planning.
- Coordinate with internal departments (Facilities, Security, IT, Academic Units, Procurement) to ensure seamless execution.
- Supervise event vendors, suppliers, production teams, and technical partners.
- Ensure compliance with institutional policies, branding guidelines, and safety standards.
3. Media Relations & Public Relations
- Align with NU media consultants all the required briefs and highlighted news
- Coordinate media coverage before, during, and after events with media consultant and make sure from receiving the publishing reports that’s reflects NU image through media outlets.
- Prepare a PR performance reports and media analysis.
- Handle PR coordination during crises or sensitive situations in alignment with management direction.
4. Stakeholder & VIP Management
- Manage engagement with senior leadership, VIP guests, partners, sponsors, and government or industry representatives.
- Oversee protocol, guest experience, and high-level communications during official events.
- Ensure professional handling of invitations, confirmations, follow-ups, and post-event communications.
- Open new leads to NU to offer internships, grants , scholarships for students
5. Budgeting, Reporting & Evaluation
- Prepare and manage event and PR budgets; monitor cost efficiency and ROI.
- Produce post-event and PR performance reports, including KPIs such as attendance, media reach, engagement, and brand impact.
- Recommend improvements based on data, feedback, and industry best practices.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or related field.
- 5–7 years of progressive experience in PR and events management.
- Ability to create, compose, and edit written materials.
- Strong Knowledge of Office management principles and procedures.
- Excellent organizing resources and establishing priorities skills.
- CRM Management Skills
- Very good command of English Language.
- Excellent Communication and time management skills.
