IT Support Specialist

Job Description

  • Provide technical support to users, labs, and classrooms for all IT services, including but not limited to operating systems, drivers, applications, and hardware, either in person, over the phone, via email, or through a ticketing system.
  • Install and configure computer applications and operating systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues.
  • Identify, diagnose, and resolve network-related issues.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve user issues by thoroughly questioning them to understand the root cause of the problem.
  • Demonstrate the ability to learn and work with emerging and evolving technologies.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for users experiencing issues with computer systems and equipment.
  • Track user system issues until they are fully resolved, ensuring adherence to agreed timelines.
  • Follow organizational procedures to resolve issues and escalate them to relevant internal departments when necessary.
  • Provide timely and accurate feedback to end users.
  • Ensure proper logging and documentation of all issues.
  • Follow up with end users to confirm that their systems are functioning properly after troubleshooting.
  • Prepare accurate and timely reports on support activities and system performance.
  • Assist in training end users on how to use various systems and technologies.
  • Support the deployment of new software or hardware systems within the university.
  • Perform any additional new tasks assigned by management that are within the same specialty and nature of daily work.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science.
  • +2 years of similar experience is required.
  • Very Good command of English.
  • Excellent Communication and time management skills.
  • Familiar with remote assistance applications.
  • Familiar with cloning applications for PCs.
  • Familiar with the network basics.
  • Familiar with laying out and connecting network cables.
  • Familiar with managing different printers, scanners and multifunction machines
