Assistant Professor - School of Digital Humanities

The school of Digital Humanities at Nile University invites applications for faculty positions at the rank of Assistant Professor in the field of Literature. The school seeks academically qualified and professionally engaged scholars who demonstrate excellence in teaching and research.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses in English Language and Literature, specifically focusing on Transcultural identity, Comparative Literature, and digital culture, in line with approved curricula and learning outcomes.
- Develop, review, and continuously improve course syllabi, teaching materials, assessment methods, and learning activities.
- Supervise undergraduate graduation projects and postgraduate theses and dissertations and participate in examination and Défense committees.
- Conduct high-quality scholarly research and publish in reputable, peer-reviewed international journals.
- Contribute to assurance of learning, accreditation, and quality assurance processes.
- Participate actively in curriculum development, program review, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Engage in academic advising and mentoring to support student success and professional development.
- Collaborate with colleagues on interdisciplinary teaching, research, and community engagement initiatives.
- Participate in academic, administrative, and professional service activities at the School, University, and community levels.
- Maintain an active professional profile through industry engagement, consultancy, executive education, or professional associations, where applicable.
Required qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Literature, Comparative Literature, Digital Humanities, or a closely related discipline from an accredited institution.
- Appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor.
- Demonstrated excellence in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and student supervision.
- Strong and sustained record of scholarly publications in reputable peer-reviewed journals.
- Demonstrated experience in interdisciplinary research involving the application of digital tools to traditional humanities subjects.
- Evidence of contribution to academic service, quality assurance, and accreditation activities.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills
