Prof. Ahmed A. Abdel Moneim

Biography

With over two decades of distinguished leadership in higher education, Prof. Abdel Moneim has established a legacy of institutional transformation, research excellence, and international impact. Under his deanship, the Faculty of Basic and Applied Sciences achieved national and international recognition, with Physical Sciences programs ranked among the top nationally and gaining visibility in global research and innovation indexes. He has founded pioneering research centers—including the ISO-accredited Graphene Center of Excellence for Energy and Electronic Applications and the Industrial Catalysis Lab—secured over 65 million L.E. In competitive national and international funding and led the development of industry-integrated laboratories and internationally benchmarked curricula.

 

Prof. Abdel Moneim has forged strategic alliances with leading universities and research institutions across Asia, Europe, and the United States, and partnered with major industrial entities such as Ezz Steel and Pharco to translate research into practical impact. He has guided more than 60 M.Sc. and Ph.D. students, including international scholars, fostering the next generation of scientific leaders and innovators. His work has been recognized through multiple national and international awards, including the State Excellence Award in Advanced Technological Sciences (ASRT, 2024), listing among Stanford University’s Top 2% of Distinguished Scholars (2020–2025), and the Invention for Humanity Award (UNDP, 2025).
