
Dr. Tarek El-Sadany
Senior Advisor to the University President for International Cooperation
Tarek El-Sadany is an accomplished executive consultant, angel investor, and technology leader with over three decades of experience in IT, digital transformation, and global business strategy. He currently serves as a senior advisor to the Nile University president for international cooperation, where he plays a role in fostering global partnerships and collaborations to enhance the university's academic, research, and innovation capabilities.
Tarek was most recently the President of Technology, Global CTO, and Corporate SVP of Unisys Corporation, where he led a global technology organization that delivered powerful, secure, and reliable IT solutions. Under his leadership, Unisys’ technology business achieved three consecutive years of growth after a decade of decline. Prior to Unisys, Tarek was the COO and CITO of Remedy Informatics, the market leader for technology innovation in Healthcare and Life Sciences. In this role, he was responsible for Remedy’s technology vision and strategy while managing all day-to-day operations of the company.
Before Remedy, Tarek served a three-year global appointment in Egypt, where he was the Chair and CEO of Egypt National Post, one of the largest organizations in the country. Earlier during his overseas gig, he was the founder and first CEO of the Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center of Egypt (TIEC), where he helped incubate a large number of tech startups. Prior to his international gig, he was the SVP of Development and Operations of Iris Financial Solutions, the leading provider of solutions to the front and middle offices of the world’s tier-1 securities firms.
Tarek was previously the Senior Vice President of Global Product Support Services of Oracle Corporation, where he managed a $ 5 billion business with more than 6,000 employees in fifty-five countries worldwide. Under his leadership, Oracle Product Support's margins by over $400 million year over year.
Before joining Oracle Corporation, Tarek was the Founder and CEO of Datacom Corporation, a visionary Silicon Valley startup with products that automate the creation and building of J2EE mission-critical applications. Earlier, he was the SVP of Kernel & Server Technologies at Tenfold Corporation, where he helped grow the firm from a 5-employee startup to a 2,000-employee public company with over $2 billion market cap. Tarek also spent over five years in various leadership positions at IBM’s global research centers.
Tarek serves/served on the board of directors of several public and private companies and organizations, including Seeloz Inc, Ficra.ai, Sawa Impact Labs, Etisalat Misr, Science and Technology Development Fund, Safe Harbor Technology Corporation of Seattle, the Council of Science and Technology, and the Information Technology Industry Development Agency of Egypt (ITIDA). Tarek holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering from the University of Louisville and a master’s degree in electrical engineering and computer science.
