Prof. Ensaf H. Mohamed is a Professor of Artificial Intelligence at the School of Information Technology and Computer Science (ITCS), Nile University, Egypt. She received her B.Sc. degree with Honors in Computer Science, followed by an M.Sc. and a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Helwan University, Egypt. With over 25 years of academic and research experience, she specializes in Artificial Intelligence and Arabic Natural Language Processing (Arabic NLP).
Since 2019, Prof. Mohamed has been working as an R&D Researcher with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT), Egypt, where she has contributed to several national digital transformation initiatives, including the Arab Heritage Project, the Egyptian Courts Digital Transformation Project, and AI solutions for the Administrative Control Authority (ACA). Her research and development activities focus on designing intelligent Arabic language technologies that support government services, knowledge management, and digital transformation.
Her research primarily focuses on Arabic Natural Language Processing, Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), Agentic AI, Knowledge Graphs, and trustworthy Generative AI. She is particularly interested in developing knowledge-enhanced LLMs for Arabic and Islamic applications, including Quranic Question Answering, AI-powered Fatwa generation, legal AI, and Arabic conversational agents. Her current research integrates LLMs, RAG, and Knowledge Graphs to improve factual accuracy, reduce hallucinations, and build reliable AI systems for low-resource Arabic domains.
At Nile University, Prof. Mohamed leads the Iftaa AI-Powered Jurisprudence Assistant project, developing advanced AI technologies to support Islamic jurisprudence through trustworthy LLMs and retrieval-augmented reasoning. She also contributes to the EgyEducationGPT and EgyHealthGPT projects, advancing domain-specific Arabic foundation models and AI applications for education and healthcare. She has published extensively in leading international journals and actively serves as a reviewer, scientific committee member, and session chair for international AI and NLP conferences.
