Nile University Expands European Academic and Research Partnerships at EULiST Matchmaking Event 2026 in Madrid
Nile University (NU) continues to strengthen its international presence and foster strategic academic partnerships through its participation in the EULiST Matchmaking Event 2026, hosted by Universidad Rey Juan Carlos (URJC) in Madrid, Spain.
Representing Nile University at the event were Dr. Sherif Elatriby, Associate Professor of Production Engineering, and Ms. Sahar Khamis, Executive Director of the Office for International Affairs (OIA).
Notably, Nile University was the only higher education institution from outside the European Union to participate in the event, highlighting its growing international recognition and its potential as a strategic academic and research partner.
Strengthening International Research and Academic Cooperation
The EULiST (European Universities Linking Society and Technology) alliance brings together European universities committed to advancing interdisciplinary education, collaborative research, sustainable innovation, and meaningful connections between technology and societal needs.
Throughout the matchmaking sessions, Nile University's representatives engaged with academic and research professionals from across the alliance, exploring opportunities for collaboration in several strategic areas:
- Joint Research and Horizon Europe Proposals: Exploring collaborative research projects and international research consortia focused on smart manufacturing, production engineering, sustainable technologies, and digital transformation.
- Student and Faculty Mobility: Discussing opportunities for structured academic exchanges and Erasmus+ mobility programs to enhance international learning experiences and cross-cultural engagement.
- Capacity Building and Innovation: Identifying opportunities to strengthen institutional capabilities, exchange expertise, and connect Egyptian academic and research initiatives with European innovation networks.
Advancing Nile University's Global Engagement
Nile University's participation as the sole non-EU higher education institution reflects its growing role in international academic collaboration and its commitment to building meaningful partnerships beyond geographical boundaries.
Through engagement with the EULiST alliance, NU aims to expand opportunities for international research funding, academic mobility, knowledge exchange, and multidisciplinary innovation.
This participation represents another step in Nile University's ongoing efforts to advance internationalization, strengthen global research networks, and provide its students and faculty with opportunities to contribute to research and innovation on an international scale.
