The CSCE 201 “Introduction to Programming” annual Treasure Hunt programming competition was held on Saturday 12/5/2018 for the purpose of challenging students’ capabilities in simple software development. The competition was composed of 6 stages (Rapunzel, Code shop, Code Puzzle, Reaper, Pictionary, Shrink it). Participants were composed of students from computer science and various engineering departments. A total of 19 teams, with 6 members each participated in the competition. Twenty-two senior students volunteered to help in conducting the competition and managing the day’s activities.
On Monday 14th of May, 2018 the winning team and the runner up team were announced and honored in an assembly attended by the dean of the School of CIT, Dr. Ahmed Hassan, the dean of the Business School, Dr. Hassan Aly, the Computer Engineering program director, Dr. Ahmed Tobal, the Computer Science program director, Dr. Samhaa El-Beltagy as well as the course instructor, Dr. Mohamed El Hadidi. The event was attended by the students and the empowering team that includes the TAs who organized the event, and the volunteers.
