Ehsan Raslan is an architectural engineer with 14 years of experiences in both academic and professional fields. Recently, she has finished her Ph.D. degree in architecture, built environment, and construction engineering at Politecnico di Milano, Italy. The research topic tackles “Energy retrofit and conservation issues in the heritage residential buildings in hot climates: The case of 19th and 20th centuries heritage residential buildings in Cairo”. She was also a visiting scholar in Gotland campus, Uppsala University, Sweden and she participated in the European project titled “IEA SHC Task59”.
Prior to finishing her Ph.D. degree, she won a scholarship to study the Master’s degree in architecture of healthcare facilities in developing countries at the University of Rome “La Sapienza”, Italy. She also studied several postgraduate courses at Cairo University related to planning of cities and environmental design. She obtained a Bachelor of Science in architectural engineering from Benha University. She worked as a teaching assistant (TA) at Politecnico di Milano and the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport. She has also a deep experience for several years as a senior architect in two well-known international consultant offices in Cairo; Zuhair Fayez Partnership (ZFP) and EGEC-Engineering House of Expertise. Currently, she is an assistant professor at Ain Shams University and Nile University.
