PNEUMATICS LAB

Short description:

Pneumatics is successfully used in many areas of industrial automation. Throughout the world, pneumatic control systems are used to operate production, assembly and packaging systems. In addition, technological advances in materials, design and production methods have improved the quality and variety of the pneumatic components and in this way helped to extend their use.

Pneumatics is an inherent part of almost every production system in the following industry sectors:

  • Pharmaceutical Industry.
  • Chemical & Petrochemical Industry

Hydraulics & Electrical drives Lab

Short description:

If it comes to high force & high precision in the industry hydraulics is required. The place held by hydraulics in (modern) automation technology illustrates the wide range of applications for which it can be used. A basic distinction is made between; stationary hydraulics & mobile hydraulics.
Mobile hydraulic systems move on wheels or tracks, for example, unlike stationary hydraulic systems which remain firmly fixed in one position. Main advantages of Hydraulic systems are

  • Transmission of large forces using small components
  • Smooth operation and reversal
  • Precise positioning
  • Start-up under heavy load
  • Good control and regulation

Short Description:

Electric motors impact almost every aspect of modern living. Refrigerators, vacuum cleaners, air conditioners, fans, computer hard drives, automatic car windows, and multitudes of other appliances and devices all use electric motors to convert electrical energy into useful mechanical energy.
Modern drives are characterized by the bringing together of electrical and mechanical components to create complete systems. With rotating electric machines in particular, the basic principles of the individual components along with the system approach and practicality play a crucial role. AC & DC drives technologies are covered within this lab

CNC Lab

Short description:

CNC machines are one of the most important equipment used in industry to produce parts. The term “CNC” stands for Computer Numerically Controlled. CNC’s are incredibly versatile and allow you to cut a variety of different types of product and materials. The exact abilities of a machine will vary with size, rigidity and power.

Necessary Know-how based on hands-on training on real industrial equipment is achieved utilizing CNC turning & CNC milling machine controlled by two of well know controllers in industry; Fanuc controller & Siemens Sinumerik controller.

 

In this lab, the following training modules are covered:

  • CNC / ISO G-code language-according to FACNUC 21 lathe
  • CNC / ISO G-code language-according to FACNUC 21 Mill
  • CNC / ISO G-code language-according to Sinumerik 810/840D lathe
  • CNC / ISO G-code language-according to Sinumerik 810/840D Mill

Automation Technology

In the present world of rapid technological changes there is an urgent demand for the very best quality products and services that can only be supplied by a high level of productivity which requires automated manufacturing and process engineering systems. Industrial Automation is very important to face the tasks of globalization & productivity. Mainly Industrial Automation is divided into Factory automation & process automation.

3.1 Factory Automation

Short Description:

Factory Automation is the handling of solid workpieces throughout the entire manufacturing and packaging process, by means of in each step of the process the shape, dimension, orientation and material is known.

3.2 Process Automation

Short Description:

Process Automation is the control of all flowing materials, such as fluids, gas or powdery material, manual or automated processes i.e. the production, transportation, treatment, and disposal. Mostly closed loop controllers are used within the Process Technology. Factory automation & process automation is necessary to be able to handle fully automation systems in which the material and signal, flow throughout the entire manufacturing and packaging process in the Industry.
